Stepping back from the trees to see the forest

Seeing trees is interesting and helpful, but without an eye to the forest you won’t have context and you’ll miss the big picture. Likewise, watching the daily movements of the minor planets (Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars) is helpful, but you profit the most by seeing it in context of the major players (Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto).

I’m stepping up to a weekly horoscope of the forest, which will give you the bigger picture. The major revolutionary transformations, as they affect you, will be my topic starting Sunday, April 1st.

Meanwhile, let’s do a quarterly review of 2012. Below I’ve repeated my New Year’s forecast so you can look with 20/20 hindsight. My own Libra forecast was more true than I’d imagined!

We wake up to Curious George pulling off our covers with a giggle, as precocious Gemini’s are wont to do! While you were sleeping (3:43 AM, PDT), the Moon sailed into intellectual Gemini. For the next three days, its multi-tasking mania!

Aggressive Mars is Tuesday’s muse, and today he’s at odds with the softer, intuitive emotions of the Moon. Since Mars is in Virgo, this could manifest as a battle between getting down to work and going off on a whimsical tangent.

Aries (March 20-April 19)
Your feelings today may be jumping around like the cartoon character, Road Runner. For the next couple days you get the quick-witted Gemini Moon to support you in being very resourceful and clever. Emotionally this energy is a little vacillating, and not known for one-step-at-a-time approaches. You have to add the focus. This afternoon (3:05 PM, PDT) the craftsmanship skills from Mars in Virgo will be squared off in a challenge to the Moon’s whimsical curiosity. You may be playing a game of musical chairs!

Taurus (April 20-May 20)
The multi-tasking Gemini Moon may show up as a feeling of nervousness for you. You like to be organized and focused on one thing at a time, but today either you or people around you will be scattered and emotionally volatile. But stay on the lookout for brilliant flashes of intuition, because Gemini has it’s genius. Mars in Virgo comes in around 3:05 PM, PDT, to challenge the Moon’s flighty ideas. So whatever you’ve been working on will settle into focus. P.S. Don’t forget you still have Jolly Jupiter in your corner until June 11th, expanding your world.

Gemini (May 21-June 20)
Happily congruent, you woke today under the influence of a Gemini Moon. You may be tempted to spread yourself too thin, chasing one emotional reaction after the other, unless you make yourself focus. However, these next two and a half days (until Thursday around 4:00 PM) will be loaded with communications and brilliant intuition. Ides of March favor rebellion

Today’s collision of the fireball Sun with the lightning-bolts of Uranus in Aries is the stuff revolutions are made of. This might well be the “Beware” part of the Ides of March. Rebellion reigns, whether it be toward a dictator or the repressive tyrant that resides in your head.

Luckily, at 2:44 PM, PDT the Moon strolls into stabilizing Taurus, extinguishing some of the wildfires. Four hours later we get a vision of what we’d like life to be, and we can feel it as if it were now.

You will feel the difference later this afternoon when the Taurus Moon brings you a calming level head. Tension melts away around 6:30 this evening and your imagination flourishes again.

Taurus (April 20-May 20)
You’ll spend the morning dodging lightning bolts and talking about how you don’t like to be surprised! What some may see as an exciting rebellion, you experience as wild chaos. Sometimes you get a do-over

Recently my family and I were driving back from Stinson Beach, along the California coastal highway, when my son suddenly remembered he’d left his sunglasses on the roof of the car! We retraced our steps over quite a few miles, guessing the glasses were crushed by now. Then we spotted them laying beside the highway, untouched and perfect.

We turned toward home again, stopping at an overlook, enjoying our good luck. From that panorama, we could see most of where we’d been, and a good bit of where we were headed. It was all beautiful, and all constantly changing.
