Uranus breaks the chains that bind you

The New Moon in Libra occurs in the wee hours of Tuesday morning, September 27th; 4:10 a.m., PDT. There's a Moneyball opportunity knocking at your door. And Uranus says, "Wake up!"

Mercury, Sun, Moon, Venus and Saturn are lined up in Libra, tipping the astrological scales to our need for companionship, justice and fair play. Libra wants artful relationships, colorfully wrapped by Venus. This intellectual sign studies human relationships, always with an eye to the balance of yin and yang--within and without.

Right now, approaching this New Moon, Uranus pitches a hard ball of fire, challenging you to stand and deliver. These lightening bolts are sudden, unexpected, and not altogether pleasant, but designed to free every prisoner or hostage, both inner and outer. Want a sneak peek at his play book?

The first strike is to Messenger Mercury, challenging your flexibility and quickening your response time. If you resist the new ideas being offered, you'll end up a sizzling mass of nerves!

Lightening bolts to the Sun blast you out of a comfort zone and force you to stand up for yourself. Remember this is in Libra, so changes are to your relationships. For example, where have you been overly-accommodating in order to keep the peace?

Lightening striking the Moon breaks childhood patterns affecting the way in which you are "at home" in the world. Freedom from should's and ought-to's are the goal. In Libra this has to do with facing your partner as a equal.

Venus is traveling side by side with Stern Saturn, so these Uranus strikes hit them in tandem. Guaranteed to break an old pattern in the structure of your relationships. Changes will come to you through those you love. Either you or your loved one will be stirred by a restlessness designed to break open the tensions that have been held below the surface. Freeing yourself to be more genuine and open with others will allow for more intimacy--your real desire. Love.

Libra loves Leo's big, loyal heart

This sweet Sunday starts with a charming embrace from Venus in Libra to the otherwise excitable Gemini Moon, setting a harmonious tone for a day that wants to be filled with electric curiosity.

This evening, romance gets an exciting kick when I've-got-the-moves Mars bursts into flames in Leo. Venus blows him a kiss--fueling the fires. The fun is ON. Venus and Mars, again in compatible signs, are at their passionate best when air (Libra, Gemini, & Aquarius) meets fire (Leo, Sagittarius, & Aries). Added heat comes Thursday evening when the Moon glows in Leo too.

The tipping point comes on Friday, September 23rd, when the Sun moves into Libra, marking the fall equinox, signaling the time for harvest. Life offers very few opportunities for a perfect balance, but Libra gives us one of them--equal amounts of day and night. Daylight has it's last majority with it's sunrise at 7:01 am on September 26th, and sunset at 7:01 pm. Ah, yin yang 50/50.

Thus enters the time of the stary stary nights. We start making our own light. With the creativity of a Van Gogh, we burn flames and bring lamp lights into the encroaching darkness, transforming it.

By Monday, September 26th, Mercury will join the Sun and Venus in Libra. Libra is the sign of the diplomat (intellect+charm+harmony). If ever there was a time to talk lovingly about our need for peace...it's now.

The call from Pluto is to transform, not destroy

When does the call to transform our world degenerate into destroying it instead? On 9/11/01 the underworld god of transformation, Powerful Pluto, was in direct opposition to an old devil, Stern Saturn--the restrictive taskmaster for the structure of our world. At that time Pluto was in fiery Sagittarius and Saturn in an air sign--ivory tower Gemini.

When major planets like Pluto and Saturn are challenging each other to a show-down, it takes a "trigger" from a faster moving personal planet, to set it off. In the case of 9/11, it was the solar fire from the Virgo Sun in an unfortunate, tense square to both Pluto and Saturn. Instead of answering the World Trade call to re-structure and transform our world through international cooperation, an angry and powerful underworld tyrant hatched a secretive scorpion plan to destroy through hatred.

We remember 9/11 this year on the eve of the full Moon in Pisces--9/12/11 at 2:27 AM, PDT. This is energy for cooperative, compassionate work. Right now we have earthy Pluto in Capricorn, at odds with Uranus in fiery Aries, and the call is for revolutionizing the structure of our world, our lives, in order to free ourselves from tyrants. Instead we see rebellion and revolution in senseless wars for dominance, not freedom.

Mercury the Messenger, in the early days of his travels through Virgo, has stepped in as a "trigger" to complete an ambitious golden triangle with Jovial Jupiter and Powerful Pluto. Mercury opens up the dialogue, gets Pluto to reveal his secrets, and nudges Jovial Jupiter to take the discussion a little more seriously. This turns on the green light for success and tremendous gains in personal wealth, right at the culminating point of this full Moon. Talk about it. Put your cards on the table. Free yourself from an inner tyrant.

Have you found your gifts from Jupiter?

Generous Jupiter in Taurus has been gently laying beautiful, valuable gifts at your feet since June 4th, 2011. But this gentle giant offers opportunities softly, take-it-or-leave-it. Believing in a universe of unlimited abundance, he's pretty relaxed about the whole thing, even when you miss a few. Jupiter's gifts, however miraculous, are wasted unless you pick them up, carefully unwrap them, and put practical feet on those bountiful blessings.

Luckily, Jupiter has turned around (retrograde) to retrace his steps, all the way back to his entrance into Taurus on June 4th. He's shining his light on the treasures along the path and adding to their store. This is another chance (isn't that just like Jovial Jupiter?) to make good on those opportunities--even discover the ones you might have missed.

Hint: Jupiter always wraps his gifts in synchronicity.

Look back through your journal, morning pages, or datebook and make a list (Sun and Venus are still in list-loving Virgo so this will be easy!). Review June 4th through August 30th. What new idea needs a second look? Which serendipitous event requires more attention? Was there a fortunate meeting that could open up a new frontier? You have from now until December 25th to cultivate those opportunities. Then Jupiter will do an about face-to-the-world, multiply all the good stuff x 10, and spin them on the wheel of fortune to wherever they are needed. (Isn't that just like Jupiter to pick Christmas Day to show off!)

On Monday, September 5th, the Moon in Capricorn, side by side with transforming Pluto, smiles winningly at Jupiter, and we'll all feel a sense of well-being. This is followed on Wednesday with the Moon's rich, earthy good times with Venus in Virgo. Venus and Mars in Cancer are hand-and-glove cooperative this week. Our minds are sharpened on Thursday when Mercury, the messenger planet, settles into his home sign of Virgo. A perfect time to get grounded and clear-headed. Some much needed sanity as we approach the anniversary of 9/11 and the Pisces Full Moon on 9/12--stay tuned.
