The angel in evangelism is "good news."

This week’s powerful energy is that of a zealous evangelist on a campaign for his beliefs. Like Mahatma Gandhi, it can be to end the abuse of political power in his country.  Or, this expansive power can turn into the maniacal self-serving zeal of a Hitler.

This Wednesday is the first of three long lasting pinnacles in which your optimism meets head-on with your fears. It’s the story of the cave-dwelling, hidden depths of Powerful Pluto opposing the expansive, positive beliefs from Generous Jupiter.

It’s a time of culmination for the efforts you’ve put behind your favorite project.  You’ll see the signs of whether it is going to succeed or fail, and you’ll know the outcome is determined by your belief.

A fire is lit.  The New Moon in Leo is this Tuesday, and Messenger Mercury enters Leo this Thursday.

Lots of Leo means that the pure innocence and curiosity of a child combines with the seasoned reasoning of an adult to produce art with flare and boldness.

“The world we see that seems so insane is the result of a belief system that is not working.  To perceive the world differently we must be willing to change our beliefs, let the past slip away, expand our sense of now, and dissolve the fear in our minds.”  William James; 1842-1910.

♡ Date Night:  Venus in Virgo and Mars in Cancer
It’s a TGIF lovefest. The down-to-earth Virgo Moon winks at Mars in Cancer this Friday and the flirting is on.  Your emotions are in the hands of the goddess of love, and you feel a deliciously loving appreciation for your friends and partners.  Hearts are so romantically rosey that you’re likely to fall in love with everyone you meet!  Saturday you’re under the lovely spell of graceful cooperation and beautiful balance in your relationships.  A lazy haze clouds the facts, so just go with what makes you happy.

The Force of belief is with you.
Here’s your horoscope for the week of August 4-10, 2013:
(★ Astrology Wonks see bottom of page)

Aries ♈ (March 20-April 19)
What would you teach if the time for teaching it was now? Tuesday’s New Moon finds you powerfully creative and wanting to share it.  You’re enjoying the good fortune of belonging to a family or community that offers you security and comfort.  Something new comes to light this week that helps you solve a problem related to home and family.  Your focus is on your personal, inner life rather than getting ahead in the outer world.  Thursday begins a two week period of inspired writing and communicating.  You have clarity about where you stand and the mental agility to express it.  It’s your belief in yourself that creates the facts of your reality.

Taurus (April 20-May 20)
The thing you really believe in, always happens.   After a long period of effort, you’ve reached a culminating pinnacle.  Doubts may linger, but your ideas are taking on a confident, emboldened, enterprising, self-assured tone.  You’ve voluntarily embraced the changes needed in your belief systems (dodged the bullet of sudden surprise!).  You may be asked to teach the idea of compromise that to some seems like a loss of power, a weakness, instead of an effective tool for getting ahead.  There may be hints of nostalgia here and there this week, so stay in the present--no regrets.  Believe the opinions of people who love you.

Gemini (May 21-June 20)
What you believe is what you’ll see. Try to enjoy the excitement of this week without emotionally spinning yourself into a dither.  Your mood changes in an instant this Tuesday when lightning bolts of inspiration send you off on a new track--eight or nine of them!  It’s all good.  You’ll meet someone new, and travel a lot.  Your fire re-ignites with Tuesday’s New Moon in Leo, followed Thursday by Mental Mercury (your muse) also firing up in Leo.  The next two weeks are intensified action.  And all of this happens in your third solar house of communications. The electric current running through your mind sparks words faster than you can write them down!

Cancer (June 21-July 21)
With the luck of Jupiter in your back pocket, you believe the future rocks!  And for you it does.  You know that even if there are times you stop believing in yourself, your gifts don’t go away.  The Moon finishes her redecorating in Cancer and sets out for full-on playfulness in Leo this Monday morning.  Then the New Moon this Tuesday is in Leo and Messenger Mercury moves into Leo this Thursday--lots of fire!  Don’t lose your cool head.  If your success seems blocked in any way, it is because you’ve gotten obsessively caught in a power struggle over who’s right and who’s wrong.  It’s either right or happy, you can’t have both.  A lovely thing for you to teach.

Leo (July 22-August 22)
A brilliant bolt of surprise starts your Sunday with a sparkle that will keep on glowing.  A powerhouse is building, starting with Monday morning laughter when you take the role of a playful jester.  Fasten your seatbelt before Tuesday’s Leo New Moon, new beginnings and renewed confidence in self-expression.  Wednesday’s signposts point to taking pride in what you’ve accomplished and a detour around any power struggles.  Thursday you hit full throttle when Mental Mercury leaps into Leo, giving you the recipe for success with two weeks of strong will, fixed purpose, and focused concentration.  “Our belief was that if we kept putting great products in front of customers, they would continue to open their wallets.”  (Steve Jobs)  Even if you cannot see the proof as yet, you can believe in your creations.

Virgo (August 23-September 22)
You are blessed with that wonderfully life-giving belief that people are perfectible.   This is the source of your persistence; your unswerving determination to never, never ever, give up on anyone.  The New Moon in Leo on Tuesday, as well as Messenger Mercury’s move to Leo on Thursday, falls in your twelfth solar house of the unconscious mind, hopes and dreams.  You’ll feel like going off by yourself, and that would do you some good.  Thursday afternoon the virtuous Virgo Moon makes a harmonious trine to Powerful Pluto and unearths some secrets, something that was hidden from you, or about you, before.  You then get a lucky break and find the source of a fear that’s been plaguing you, perhaps since childhood. Turning to meditation will come naturally.

Libra (September 23-October 22)
Hope you kept your boldness hat on because this week that Leo energy has you bursting with spontaneous urges to color way out of the box!  Tuesday is your day to plant new seeds in your creative projects, and you get the confidence booster to sell your ideas.  Wednesday’s pinnacle asks you to look at the work you’ve done on your innermost self, your desire for peace and security.  If you’ve responded to the urge to go out into the world and blaze your own trail, you’ll see the signs of success. The trickster gets loose Thursday for two weeks of spontaneous humor as you let your free flag fly (like, can you believe that the decline in true romance is a direct result of the decline in drive-in movie theaters?).  Others will be drawn to your playful spirit.

Scorpio ♏  (October 23-November 21)
If you believe in something, but don’t truly live it, you’re cheating your destiny.  Stuck at the crossroads of SameOl’Stuff and BetterChange?  Your doubts can expect a kick in the seat of the pants.  In the next two weeks signposts will appear signaling where your projects have stalled out, and where they are crowned with success.  It’s a good time to talk to bosses about advancement, to make new plans about your career, or to undertake the mastery of a new technique to further your success.  Flames of revolutionary transformation flare up with this week with Jupiter in Cancer issuing a direct Call to arms for the spiritual warrior in you.  Fight the good fight that is always within.

Sagittarius (November 22-December 20)
Your old flame returns this week! He’s quite rambunctious and puts you in the mood for pranks and adventure.  Your curiosity is peaked and it’s a good time for travel. When Jupiter’s pinnacle arrives Wednesday, look for an inheritance or benefit from pooling your resources.  Then, get out that well worn soap box.  Malcolm X said, “if you don’t stand for something, you’ll fall for anything.”  When Messenger Mercury fires up in Leo this Thursday, you’ve got two weeks ahead in which you can sell the proverbial snow to eskimos.  But we’d all be better off if you sell that wonderful ability you have for positive thinking.

Capricorn (December 21-January 19)
Can you train yourself to love the belief that you don’t know where you’re going?  Because it’s only when hanging in mid-air, with no runway in sight, that your wings unfold and you take flight.  That’s the metamorphosis that awaits your belief, right now.  Beginning with the New Moon on Tuesday, you see things that are usually hidden from you.  Even so, this is not a good time to challenge the powers that be.  You may believe with all your might that you are right, and you probably are, but enemies when branded think of weapons!  Keep your faith and optimism beside your bed to chase away Saturn’s obsession with “worse case scenarios.”  Remember, any delusion can be successful if enough people believe in it, and so can any ideal.

Aquarius (January 20-February 17)
Don’t you want to believe that one day Abe Lincoln or Superman or Martin Luther King is going to come back, walk into congress, and kick everybody’s ass!  Under the influence of a plethora of Leo planets, your thoughts turn to people you’re intimately involved with in your daily life.  The New Moon falls in your seventh solar house of partnerships and marriage.  It’s a time for you to consult other people’s opinions, and not to go it alone.  It’s a question of accomplishing much more together than either of you could do alone.  Your week ends on the graceful winds of a Libra Moon, which bring you an easy ability to facilitate cooperation in your relationships.  Libra never seeks justice at someone else’s expense.  She happily includes everyone--very Aquarian!

Pisces ♓  (February 18-March 19)
Yours is a beautiful mind; with the fullness of Jupiter’s good fortune, being at the right place at the right time from Mars, and expansion of your spiritual wisdom from Neptune.  You have an eagle’s eye view for Wednesday’s pinnacle; reading the signs that mark the success or failure of your recent efforts.  You can avoid the briarpatch of power struggles by allowing yourself to be wrong; opening your mind to knowing nothing for certain creates the space for Miracles.  The energy of creativity shifts this week into the fires of Leo, asking you to incorporate that childhood innocence that you know exists in everyone, into your great sense of purpose.
