Leo Lioness roars for peace

“Every man must decide whether he will walk in the light of creative altruism or in the darkness of destructive selfishness.”  Martin Luther King

The power of Saturday’s Full Moon in Leo will magnetically drawn you to integrate your head and your heart, to meld your thoughts with your intuition.  The genius we need for full scale reform of our attitudes toward the downtrodden, the ragged and unwell, rides on the back of this lioness’s courage.

Martin Luther King sits at the head of this week’s astrological journey.  The freedom loving Aquarius Sun is all about brotherhood, while the Leo Moon is heart-wide-open wonder and awe at the sight of our burning desire for freedom.
Without the practiced power to forgive, we cannot truly love. "I have decided to stick with love.  Hate is too great a burden to bear.”
The Force of atonement is with you.

♡ Date Night  Over the Moon optimism fuels a riotous TGIF, even though Venus and Mars are a chilly couple, intimacy-wise.  You'll want to party with everyone, at the same time you need to work late at the office! Festivities or duties?  Expect drama.

Here’s your horoscope for the week of January 20th, 2013:
(★ Astrology Wonks see bottom of page)

Aries ♈ (March 20-April 19)
Monday may end with a bang!  You hit the decks running this week while you’re also trying to juggle four balls in the air.  You get hit with surprises that are pleasant but challenge your balance.  Adventures that broaden your horizons come midweek.  You should be asking yourself, “why not?”  You’ll still be riding high after Friday night's big optimism, when the Moon roars into self-confident Leo Saturday morning.  Courage and open-hearted loyalty make the regal superiority of the Leo lioness your protector and friend.  The journey from your head to your heart gets a paved eight lane freeway from Saturday’s Leo Full Moon.

Taurus (April 20-May 20)
Sunday starts your week with an unusually angry feeling about people who try to shove their beliefs down your throat!  You rarely rebel openly, but your righteous warrior is digging his heels in, taking a stand, and will not be moved! ("We shall not be moved!")  Sweet dreams of the fruits of your labor fill your head just before bedtime Wednesday.  Turn them into clear affirmations that you can sleep on.  Bottom line as your approach Saturday’s Full Moon, what do your really believe in?  What would you put yourself on the line for?  This Leo-Aquarius Full Moon raises the necessity of integrating your head with your heart.

Gemini (May 21-June 20)
The Moon in your sign has a dreamy edge to start your week in a pink haze that could confuse your usually clear thinking.  At the same time you have an inner sense of well being, that it’s all okay.  Flashes of genius and epiphanies of insight will amp up your intellectual volume Tuesday.  By Wednesday evening the flurry of ideas will actually settle into their natural place, and grow some productive roots.  By the week’s end a sense of “all’s right with the world” fills your head with optimistic attitudes and a broader horizon. The Leo Full Moon is perfect for a party.

Cancer (June 21-July 21)
Getting serious about who owes what to whom will bring a better structure to your relationships.  Not particularly fun (the goddess of love would rather paint over it in technicolor), but it will make for lasting value.  Midweek is meant for thinking outside the tried-and-true box.  Innovation is your friend.  The Moon looks homeward like an angel of comfort beginning Wednesday evening when she settles into Cancer.  Trying to keep things status quo will prove impossible by Thursday, when you might as well risk the vulnerability of exposing a secret.  Bottom line this week, what is your heart's desire?

Leo (July 22-August 22)
You’re taking your head full of ideas to King Arthur's round table (yes, you’re the King!) for egalitarian resolutions.  What is worth fighting for?  Tuesday's a
Think Tank, perfect for getting a new perspective that really shakes up the status quo.  Thursday evening delivers a titillating surprise or two that wakes you up to anything that's held you back.  A new perspective comes just in time to take advantage of it. The past month’s efforts come to fruition, culminating at Saturday’s Full Moon in your sign.  Your weekend brings a note of good cheer and heady optimism that helps you take that risk.

Virgo (August 23-September 22)
You know how to move with the dance of life and make the work of healing look effortless. Venus is in your corner, sweetening the changes you want to make.  This week puts your habits to the test. A few more hours at the office, or head out for home and hearth?  What serves you? With so much on your to-do list, either everything crashes in anxiety, or your true desires ignite a creative fire. Saturday’s Full Moon in Leo shakes up an old patterns to make room for change. From the ashes, new life.

Libra (September 23-October 22)
Your emotions are mercurial and covered in a haze of dreams Monday morning.  Write them down before you wake fully. You have an unusually serious take on your relationships this week and a need to restructure responsibilities.  Focusing on stability and longevity are not things that Venus-ruled Libras are usually prone to do.  But this week you’re a master of cooperation!  Look for expansive opportunities and peak experiences midweek.  By Wednesday evening, your brilliant ideas flutter out of your head and down to your feet, which are planted securely on your home turf.  You're in an excellent position to put your heart into your work.
Leo’s creative fires this weekend fill you with the awe and wonder of a new life.

Scorpio ♏  (October 23-November 21)
Seriousness is putting a reality check on your most meaningful relationships, not a wet blanket necessarily, but definitely a break with any obsessive ideas about how it should be.  If you need to get down to your core beliefs, the ones you’d put everything on the line for, Friday is the day.  Gotta work late?  Worth missing a comfy dinner by the home fires?  The juice of Saturday’s Full Moon in Leo is a sure fire hangover in the making, if you let the good cheer of Friday night go to waste in overindulgence.  Instead, enjoy your adventurous attitude, and you’ll wind up with a wonderful sense of well-being.

Sagittarius (November 22-December 20)
Early in the week, culminating on Tuesday, you’ll be ripe with ideas for a better world.  Get out your soap box because others really do need to hear the wake up call of your zeal and optimism.  The Full Moon in Leo this Saturday has you on the internet searching travel deals for an African safari!  If you can stay out of the gambling halls, avoid shouting “drinks on me” for everyone at the bar, you’ll end up high on life.

Capricorn (December 21-January 19)
Venus in your sign is sobering up and pulling away from some passionate obsessions that have held your love captive to unconscious drives.  Your self-confidence is growing through the successes that are meaningful to you.  You aren’t influenced in the least by unsubstantiated praise from others.  Thursday finds you emotionally secure but frazzled with sudden changes.  Issues related to children, romance and creativity carve out a deeper place in your heart and challenge you to harvest your resources for a new beginning in those arenas.

Aquarius (January 20-February 17)
You meet resistant to your naturally unconventional political ideas, and you welcome the challenge to debate.  Or better still, get yourself elected as chairperson and guide the group to honor human rights.  You’re like the great orator Martin Luther King, who had Mercury, the planet of communicating, in the sign of Aquarius.  Saturday is the Full Moon in Leo-Aquarius.  Your role as a loyal partner and friend is integral to who you’ve become. Leo does not hesitate to throw everything into the fires of chaos in order to make room for something new to be born.  What brings light, must endure burning.

Pisces ♓  (February 18-March 19)
The powerfully obsessive preoccupation you’ve had about a close love relationship is waning.  You’re aware now of the need to restructure, along the lines of more responsibility and accountability to each other.  Use the spiritual “hunches” now coming to you.  Tuesday you’re an intellectual powerhouse, just don’t let it fry your circuits!  Saturday’s Full Moon in Leo energizes your hopes and dreams, and challenges you to integrate them with the work you do.  And to remember you cannot do any of it alone.

✶ Astrology Wonks
Martin Luther King’s destiny is clearly written in his stars.  The most compassionate of hearts from his Pisces Venus paired with the Moon--a natural ability for unconditional love and the deepest empathy for the suffering of all mankind.  Venus in Pisces is the sweetest most empathic ability to love and, when joined by the Moon, becomes the experience of feeling at one with all.

King had the guaranteed fame of Sun in Capricorn conjunct the midheaven, integrity and ambitious fairness.  Thank God for our Nation, he had a thoughtful dose of righteous anger from a Gemini Mars square his sympathetic Moon.  In the end we will not remember the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends.  A quiet tolerance of evil is cooperating with it.

His Soul understood the inevitability of a violent death, with Mars directly opposed to the Grim Reaper (Saturn) in his 8th house.  Above all, he was gifted with Practical Spirituality by an exact trine between visionary Neptune and generous Jupiter.

Humility is out the door this Saturday when the naturally self confident Leo Moon heads for an opposition with the Aquarius Sun (Full Moon in Leo at 8:39 PM, PST).  Not the time to be shy!
